The Merrimack County towns sit southeast of Canaan along Route 4 and Route 11 — Danbury, Wilmot and New London, running up into the Ragged Mountain and Kearsarge country.
These towns bring more elevation and more seasonal property than the valley floor. Snow load, hard freeze-thaw cycling and steep driveways are the common thread, so decks, entries, drainage and snowblowers all get more attention here than they do closer to the river.
New London is the furthest of the three, which is why I schedule it as a full visit rather than a quick stop. If you are down that way, save your small jobs into one list and we will get through them together.
